The images were generated with Midjourney using detailed prompts utilizing our equipment, process, and style of photography. Prompts included requests for midcentury modern contemporary furnishings, abstract paintings, midcentury modern architecture, and Frank Gehry inspired Joshua Tree domes, among other inspirations. Locations were Big Sur, Santa Barbara, and Joshua Tree, CA.

While the prompts accepted most style parameters and were given the highest level of generative creativity, the technology is not there to “replace” an interior designer or architectural photographer. Extensive generations and post production enhancements were necessary to transform the original output into a usable image. I would not have chosen every item in the room, and would have adjusted more parameters, but it is a good starting point for concept development.
